Using UtahCompose.com for the first time:

1-Login to http://utahcompose.com/
2- Your username is your SSID with 3 zeros in front of it. (000 + your SSID) You can find your SSID when you log into Aspire (the grade program).
3- Your teacher will give you your old password. Then, once you login, please change your password to your lunch number. Some of you have already done this in years past. Yay for you! The next time you login, your password should be easy to remember, right? To change your password, Click on My Account. In the appropriate boxes, type your old password, new password and then confirm the new password.

Using UtahCompose.com to start a new assignment:

1-Login to http://utahcompose.com/
2- Your username is your SSID with 3 zeros in front of it. (000 + your SSID)
3- Your password is your lunch number.
4- Click on your class (ELA 8). Click on the Practice tab.
5- Click on the name of the assignment. Read it over. Think and plan. You can click on Prewriting to do this if you wish.
6- When you’re ready to start writing, click on Begin Writing.
7- When you finish your first draft, click on Submit. Utah Compose will then give you a score, a writing analysis and some lessons specific to your writing. Use the ideas in the lessons to revise your writing.

Returning to a writing assignment that you’ve already started on UtahCompose.com:

1-Follow the first 4 steps from above.
2- Your latest assignment will show up in your Writing History. Click on the date in front of it and you can continue.
3- When you finish your first draft, click on Submit. Utah Compose will then give you a score, a writing analysis and some lessons specific to your writing. Use the ideas in the lessons to revise your writing.
